Card-C-06-04. Vertical knowing
DEH: …improvement in knowing is the change from horizontal or shallow knowing to vertical or developmental knowing. Thoought corresponds more & more with Reality, which is Vertical. Thus the thought which refers all to God, the life which refers matters to Divine guidance, the life of prayer, is a true life: its verticality is more in accord with the verticality of reality. [symbol] Thus a science of science, or philosophy of Mabel, is truer than separate horizontal sciences, because it corresponds more accurately with reality. But the thought which corresponds more & more, is really participating more & more, finding itself more & more, in [symbol]
Card-C-06—10 DEH: …merely passively knowing what is, is not enough; you have to concur in it & more than concur. You have to share in that Thought which created it. This is what is meant by acceptance of necessity. This is the common point to which growing knowledge & growing “identification of your will with Will from above” converge. Here knowledge & will are one in God.

Card-C-06-14 DEH At the centre — the complete acquiescence of passivity, of no-thought. At the circum — the complete acquiescence of the identity of thought & its object, of perfect knowledge ending by being what is known. At the centre — perfect ignorance & knowledge of nothing = being nothing.
