Card-E-13-08 DEH The Stoics taught, in effect, the first stage of the control of one’s outer limbs: they taught one not to resist the movement one finds in these limbs. They taught acquiescence. They went further when they said: what is good for thee, O Universe, is good for me. This is a realisation that the outer limbs do truly serve.
The full control of these limbs is coming to the advanced intelligence & moral purpose which is in fact in control, & realising that it is mine. If you could control your outer limbs with this narrow human mind of yours, you would ruin the whole Body. The control has to be that of your highest Self.
