McTaggart
Index-Card-M-13-15 DEH Not to love a man is to fail to see him as he is. Not to acquiesce in an event is to fail to appreciate the event as it really is, that is as the Whole seen from a certain angle. A man is the Whole, nothing less. At the universal level, complete, he’s perfect, to be revered & loved & acquiesced in.
When you see evil, dullness, ugliness, you are experiencing your limitations. When this evil dullness ugliness drive you to create goodness, life, beauty, in their stead you are outgrowing your limitations…
Moments of love are moments of true insight & lucidity. In such moods we would not have anything different from what it is. Love is true understanding, or anyway indispensable for it. To love, to see the true & beautiful in an object, is true perception, is to see the object whole-some-ly.
